Some official notice...
The "good" (="bored") people at Weird Websites awarded The Bumpersticker Compendium a "Weird Website of the Week," October 26, 2000.

That may be my 15 minutes of Warholian fame.
Featured Weird Website of the Week!
A 16th minute of fame! http://www.userfriendly.org/ has this page as Link of the Day, 4/21/03.
A 17th! I was interviewed by a public radio afiiliate in the US in the summer of 2004. (I will put details and a link to the audio from the show soon.)
Yet an 18th! I was interviewed by the host of a BBC 4 radio program called "Word of Mouth." The show aired in September of 2005. I have received as many as... ONE... email from someone who knew me and heard it. (Thanks, Lester E. of Bristol.) Listen to the
interview!

Philosophy...
I have put up just about every bumpersticker that anyone has ever submitted. The handful I have rejected have been made-up (not actual sightings) and vicious. Without any other redeeming quality (especially cleverness), I couldn't see the point of putting them up. So nuts to them, it's my compendium. The mean and stupid are, of course, welcome to  start their own compendium. Let's hear it for America!

History... (and thanks)
The compendium started on a dry-erase board in a Cambridge kitchen in the 80s; visitors would add new entries. It never failed to interest anyone who saw it.

The list went up on the Web when the Web was young, in about 1994, and then it got growing fast... as if anyone on the 'Net could come by our kitchen and get a kick out of the list and offer more entries.

Thanks to Slim, my generous and intelligent webhost, for making this site possible.
