Philosophy...
| I have put up just about every bumpersticker that anyone has ever submitted. The handful I have rejected have been made-up (not actual sightings) and vicious. Without any other redeeming quality (especially cleverness), I couldn't see the point of putting them up. So nuts to them, it's my compendium. The mean and stupid are, of course, welcome to start their own compendium. Let's hear it for America! |
History... (and thanks)
| The compendium started on a dry-erase board in a Cambridge kitchen in
the 80s; visitors would add new entries. It never failed to interest anyone who saw it. The list went up on the Web when the Web was young, in about 1994, and then it got growing fast... as if anyone on the 'Net could come by our kitchen and get a kick out of the list and offer more entries. Thanks to Slim, my generous and intelligent webhost, for making this site possible. |
